Funeral Services For Mrs. R. C. Hedlund Saturday Afternoon
SLATER -- Funeral services for Mrs. R. C. Hedlund, a former Slater resident for many years, was held Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical Free church in Madrid with Rev. W. F. Rodman officiating.
Mrs. Albert Buche sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Meyers sang "Home Sweet Home."
Interment was in Hillsdale cemetery.
Obituary
Inger Margaret Hedlund was born Oct. 1, 1881 in Sheldahl. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Brown lived in the community. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Sheldahl. Mrs. Hedlund grew to womanhood in the Slater community.
In June 1910 she was united in marriage to Robert C. Hedlund. To this union were born two sons, Hollis of Slater and Harold of Bouton. Most of the couple's married life was spent in the Slater community where Mrs. Hedlund was employed as telegraph operator. When retiring three years ago, Mr. Hedlund was railroad agent at Cambridge, and since that time they have made their home in Madrid.
She passed away in her home Thursday morning, Jan. 29 at the age of 71 years, three months and 28 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Robert Hedlund, two sons Hollis and Harold, five sisters, Anna Weeks and Mabel Buche of Madrid, Esther Teigen of Jackson, Minn. and Ruth and Beulah Brown of Des Moines, six brothers, Jo and Howard of Jackson, Minn., Oscar of Albert City, Earle of Ames and Jack and Tom of Madrid; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Hedlund was a devoted wife and loving mother. Peace be to the memory of Mrs. Margaret Hedlund.
