ANNA HUHN

Mrs. John Huhn died at her home in the north part of the city (Nevada) on Wednesday morning, September 30 (1903), about five o'clock. Mrs. Huhn has for several years been a great sufferer from rheumatism and the past six months has been stricken with dropsy so bad that it was almost impossible for her to lie down.

She was born in Hesse Province, Germany on January 9, 1842 and afterwards lived in Maryland. She was married to John Huhn in 1866 in Baltimore, Maryland, and afterwards moved to Indiana. Illinois and then Iowa. To this union was born ten children, all but two of which are still living. Two children are in Indiana, one in Illinois and the rest live in or around Nevada.
They are: Daniel of Nevada, Abbie Reed of Philo, Illinois, Laura Myers and Kate Knorpp of Wayne County, Indiana; Ella Shalley, Nellie Wood, Vioma Farren and Arlie Huhn all of Nevada.

The funeral services were held in the Christian church this morning at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. Charles Hougham of Zearing, and the interment made in the Nevada Cemetery. The many Nevada friends of the family join in deep sympathy with them over the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother.
