DEATHS

MRS. BERT (ESTLLA) GIBSON

Mrs. Bert (Estella) Gibson, 99, a long-time Baxter area resident died Thursday in Nevada. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Boyd-Nichol Funeral Home in Baxter with Rev. Bob Hinshaw, pastor of Ashton Chapel near Baxter, in charge. Mrs. Donald Akins of Baxter provided the music and pallbearers were Dick Milligan, Earl Jr. Milligan, Reno Milligan, Max Milligan, Bill Milligan and Edwin Milligan.

Survivors are three sons, Earl Milligan and Harold Milligan of Collins, Carl Milligan of Maxwell; a daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Pearl) Beebe of Whittier, Calif.; three step children, Merrill Gibson, Colfax; Marvin Gibson of Colfax and Mrs. Hazel Pyle of Marshalltown; 22 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren; 32 great great grandchildren and a sister, Belva Fuller of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Milligan, May 4, 1912; her second husband, Nov. 28, 1940, her parents, two sons, six brothers and five sisters.

Mrs. Gibson was baptized in the Newton Baptist Church. The daughter of David and Chellie Beals, she was born Aug. 18, 1873 in Kellogg and was educated in Jasper County schools.

She was married to William Henry Milligan Dec. 31, 1890 in Kellogg. Following his death, she married Bert Gibson Feb. 17, 1916 in Newton. Mrs. Gibson moved to Collins in 1965 and from there to the Oak Park Manor in Nevada.
