Obituary
Tena Ihle
Funeral services for Mrs. Tena Ihle, 95, Story City, were held Thursday, Dec. 16 at 1:30 p.m., from Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Slater. Pastor John Ness was in charge. Burial was in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery. Mrs. Alvin Lund was organist and soloists were the Rev. Louis Malmin and Kathy Abbas.
Casket bearers were Raymond Rimathe, Amos Ihle, Robert Brown, Harry Gandrup, Wallace Gandrup and Vernon Fanning.
Mrs. Ihle was born in Slater May 13, 1881 to Torres T. and Brita Ryen. She was united in marriage to John M. Brown in May of 1903, who passed away on Feb. 29, 1924. She married Erick Ihle in May of 1936 who preceded her in death in 1964. She was a cook in the Slater schools until her retirement to Story City.
Mrs. Ihle had been in ill health the past ten years. Since 1964 she had been a resident of Bethany Manor where she passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters, Edith Sinn and Mildred Zinn, both of Story City, Truman Brown of Slater, Helen Fanning, Des Moines, Thelma Smith and Carroll John Brown both of Kansas City, Mo.; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Her parents, a daughter, one brother and three sisters have preceded her in death.
