DEATHS

CLAY A. ROBISON

Clay Alexander Robison, son of E. Roland and Mattie (Whitaker) Robison was born September 1, 1907, on his parent's homestead farm near Maxwell, Iowa. Clay attended school at Maxwell, from high school in the class of 1924. The following fall he enrolled at Iowa State University and persued a course in animal husbandry. Two years later, Clay took over the duties of his father's farm.

On August 5, 1934, Clay was united in marriage to Lavonne Alexander of Winterset, Iowa. The Robisons made their home in Maxwell for the following eight years. In 1941 the Robisons moved to his parents farm where Clay was engaged in farming for a few years.

Clay was a national director of the Izaak Walton League of America.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, and served as secretary of the Story County Conservation Board for many years.

Clay was a member of Elwell Evangelical United Brethren Church and an affiliated member of the Maxwell United Presbyterian Church.

Clay's hobbies were hunting and fishing and the great out-of-doors. Clay liked the plain, rugged manner of life and he enjoyed sincere and genuine human relationships.

For the past seven years he had been in poor health. He passed away at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Jan. 7, 1966, at the age of 58.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lavonne, one sister, Edith Robison of Maxwell, several cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were held in the Maxwell Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, with Reverends Robert Link and Floyd Conroy officiating.

Mrs. Alice Gooden, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Madeline Summitt sang, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "Abide With Me."

The beautiful floral tributes were in charge of Mrs. Kathleen Minear and Mrs. Gladys Pearson.

Casket bearers were Ted Minear, Rollin Coughenour, Milton Mohr, Eldon Pearson, Ralph Swalwell and Fred Kahler.

Interment was in the Iowa Center Cemetery.
