Obituaries

Jacob Velde

Funeral services for Jacob Velde, 84, were held at the Palestine Lutheran Church on Friday, January 19, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ernest T. Thompson officiating. Mrs. Noel Larson was the organist.

Syvert Westvold sang a Norwegian song. The congregation sang "Softly and Tenderly." Pallbearers were Lawrence Bank, Walter Beson, David Birdkestrand, Alvin Lantz, Gene Sydnes and Cecil Lande.

Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery.

Jacob Velde was born on November 3, 1888 at Vats, Norway.

He made his home at Huxley before moving to McCallsubrg four and one-half years ago. He died Wednesday evening, January 17, at McCallsburg.

Mr. Velde is survived by one brother, Arnie and a daughter Jorgine Twedt of Norway. Two grandchildren and five great grandchildren, all of Norway.
