THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 6, 1949, page 1, column 4. "JAMES THOMAS OXLEY - James Thomas Oxley, son of Thomas and Mary Oxley, was born March 26, 1874 near Peoria City, Iowa and passed away in Los Angeles, Calif., Sept. 22, 1929. On November 26, 1893 he was united in marriage to Alice Cordelia Ozmun, of Collins. To this union 5 children were born, 3 boys, Willard, Harry who died when a small boy and Lloyd and 2 daughters, Mrs. Alele Friend and Mrs. Doris Hay. He also leaves to mourn his passing, 2 sisters, Mrs. Ida Kulow, of Sioux City and Mrs. Alice Sperlin, of Marshalltown; 1 brother, J. W. Oxley in Colorado and a number of nephews and nieces. In 1917, he moved to Colorado, where in 1925 his wife passed away. In 1926 he moved to Los Angeles, Cal., where he was residing at the time of his death. Pallbearers were: Wm. Duesbury, Henry Duesbury, Floyd Kelderhouse, Floyd Oswalt, Earl Robertson and Jay Taylor. Burial was in the Peoria Cemetery."
