ROLAND MAN DIED HERE YESTERDAY
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOHN IVERSON WILL BE HELD THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
John Iverson, 59, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. A. Lindroth, corner of Tenth and Avenue G, Sunday afternoon, at 3:40. Funeral services from the Lindroth home at 12:30, after which the family and friends will accompany the body to Roland, where the funeral will be held at Bergen church. Interment will be in the Roland cemetery. Mr. Iverson had been a member of the Bergen church in Roland for 36 years.
John Iverson was a native of Sande, Norway, Europe, where he was born September 11, 1863, and died at Nevada, Iowa, April 22, 1923, age 59 years, 7 months and 11 days.
He came to the United States July 12, 1882, settling first at Morris, Ill., where he was married January 16, 1886, to Susan Nerem. Mrs. Iverson died March 9, 1908.
It was a year after their marriage or in 1887, that they came out to Iowa and located in Roland which had since been the family home. During the past year he has made his home with his daughter in Nevada and with a sister, Mrs. William Olson, at Blue Earth about six weeks ago and from that time had been gradually failing in health and his death was not unexpected.
He leaves three children, Mrs. C. A. Lindroth of Nevada, Ingmore S. Iverson of Des Moines and Iver J. Iverson of Fort Dodge. The children will be at the funeral, being at his bedside when he passed away. He leaves three sisters also, they being Mrs. William Olson of Blue Earth, Mrs. Sarah Wicks of near Randall, Iowa and one sister in Norway.
