Funeral of Mrs. Gibson Was Held at Maxwell

Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, Feb. 29--Funeral services for Mrs. Sam Gibson who died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ned Jones in Marion, were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church here in charge of the pastor, Rev. W. S. Kight. A male sextette sand three numbers: "Saved by Grace", "It is Well With My Soul", and "The Little Brown Church in the Vale:, which were the selections of the deceased. The Pall Bearers were his nephews: Harry Gibson, Dave Pearson, Harley Norton, T. J. Morrison, T. H. Morrison and Wm. Morrison.

Mrs. Gibson had been in poor health for more than two years and last September fell and was injured and since was confined to her bed. She was 72 years old and was a resident of Maxwell for many years. On account of her failing health she and her husband went to Marion to live with their daughter, Mrs. Jones over a year ago. Beside the husband and daughter she leave one son, Guy Gibson of Cedar Rapids. Burial was made in the family lot in the Peoria cemetery. Among the out-of-town people attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. M. Shissley and Gale Pease of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nason and daughter, Mrs. Meyers of State Center; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Welch, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leslie, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Day, Lew Kern and Mrs. Tiffin Hall of Des Moiens; Mrs. Francis Baldwin and son, Erwin of Mingo; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graham of Farrar; Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Morrison of Collins.
