Albert C. Omvig
Funeral services for Albert C. Omvig were held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, with Pastor C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Pastor M.D. Hagedorn spoke a few words on behalf of the Story City Bethany Manor and their staff. Mrs. Home Olson and Mrs. Ray Romsey, vocalists, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art." Mrs. Harold S. Olson was organist.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clifford Soren, Harry Soren, Charles Sampson, Clark Sampson, Stanley Miller, and Clyde Omvig.
Albert C. Omvig, son of Christopher Omvig, was born on a farm northwest of Story City on August 4, 1890. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church northwest of Story City.
On February 21, 1912, he was united in marriage to Annie Marie Nelson. Four children were born to this union. He spent his entire life on a farm in the community where he was born.
On January 1 he suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in Story City Memorial Hospital for the month of January. In February he transferred to Story City Bethany Manor where he died at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 7 days.
