C. S. TOOT
A lifelong Story County resident, C. S. Tood of 759 15th St. Place, Nevada, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday at Story County Hospital at the age of 77.
Toot, sho had been ill for the past 10 1/2 years, was born July 24, 1895, near Fernald, the son of Charles F. and Carrie A. Toot. A farmer, he was married to Leila B. Hardin on Jan. 15, 1919, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Nevada.
He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, the I O O F and a charter member of Legion Post 48. He had served as a Richland Township trustee and a member of the school board for Township School No. 4.
Survivors include his wife Leila, a son Charles Mark Toot of Nevada, two daughter Phyllis (Mrs. Keith Eubank) of State Center and Nedra (Mrs. Gerald Myers) of McCallsburg, 10 grandchildren and two sisters, Kate Oakes of Alhambra, Calif., and Mary Lemm of Whittier, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Memorial Lutheran Church, with Pastor Harry Myklebust officiating. Burial will be in Murphy Cemetery east of Fernald.
