THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, November 27, 1941, page 1, column 3. "FORMER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY. John Mishler, a pioneer resident of the Loring community, died at the home of his oldest daughter, Mrs. James Scarcees,** in Manly. Funeral services were held at Manly on Thursday morning with burial in the Loring cemetery Thursday afternoon. Father Germaine of Elkhart, had charge of the graveside services. The children, grandchild and friends from a distance were dinner guests in the I. F. Yoder, J. D. Miller and C. A. Sargent homes. All of whom were nieces and nephews of the deceased." **Editorial note - should be Scarcello.
