Rites Held July 20 For Agnes McHone

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, July 20 at 2 p. m. from the Bible Presbyterian Church in Cambridge for Mrs. Agnes McHone, with the Rev. Stanley Farmer of Maxwell officiating.

Oscar Sauerlender sang two songs, "Ivory Palaces" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Mrs. Iona Dykstra at the piano.

Mrs. Earl McHone and Mrs. Letta Link were in charge of the flowers.

Casket bearers were Mervin Jennings, Charles Severson, Kenneth Jennings, Stanley Floden, Ralph Severson and Wilford Jennings.

Burial was in the White Oak cemetery.

Obituary

Agnes Iona Jennings, oldest daughter of J. C. and Anna Jennings, was born Feb. 10, 1883, at Des Moines, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Frank Marion McHone March 18, 1903 at Cambridge, Iowa and to this union were born seven children, Edwin, Lenora, Mabel, Ursula, Irene, Ruth and Helen.

They made their home in the White Oak community until 1916, when the family moved to the Windom, Minn. vicinity. They resided there until 1927. They then returned to Cambridge where she resided until the time of her death.

Mrs. McHone died very suddenly July 17, 1960 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, following a lingering illness at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 7 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1934, one daughter, Lenora, in 1941 and one son, Edwin, in 1950.

She is survived by her five daughters, (Mabel) Mrs. Henry French, Ortonville, Minn., (Ursula) Mrs. Herman Herbst, Cambridge, Iowa, Mrs. Irene Herbst, South Sioux City, Neb., Mrs. Ruth Baker, Cambridge and (Helen) Mrs. Donald Hoyt, Maxwell, Iowa; also two sisters, Mrs. Kate Severson, Ballclub, Minn., and (Florence) Mrs. Harley Zook, Los Angeles, Calif; one brother, George Jennings, Slater, Iowa; and 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many other relatives, and a host of friends.
