WILLIAM DUESBURY
COLLINS--Funeral services were held from William Duesbury in St. Mary's Catholic church in Colo Friday morning at 10:00 o'clock with the Rev. Father ----- ------ing.
Casket bearers were John Duesbury, Donald Cummings, Donald Evans, Lowell Holmes, Charles Carson and William -------.
Interment was in the St. James cemetery at Colo with the Cooper Funeral Service of Maxwell in charge.
Life Sketch
Goorge William Duesbury, older son of Thomas and Levenia Backous Duesbury, was born April 5, 1898 in northwest Jasper county near Collins and was a ------ resident of that community with the exception of five years, had lived his entire life on the same farm.
He died suddenly at his home Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1959 at the age of 60 years, nine months and five days. A heart attack was the immediate cause of death. He had been in failing health the last two years and was patient at the St. Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown a few weeks ago.
Mr. Duesbury was united in marriage with Marie Mayer on Feb. 12, 1934 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Nevada and to this union one daughter, Mary Margaret who with her mother, survives. Mary is attending Mount Saint Clare Academy in Clinton and is in her senior year.
Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Levenia Duesbury, now a patient in the Story County Hospital; three sisters, Mrs. Loren (Elizabeth) Davis, Mrs. Albert (Eva) Link Jr. and Mrs. Howard (Minnie) Cummings, all of Maxwell; and one brother, Henry of Collins, and a number of nieces and nephews.
William was a member of St. Mary's church of Colo and Knights of Columbus.
