NINA V. NESSA
McCALLSBURG--Funeral services for Nina V. Nessa were held Tuesday, Jan 27, 1959 at the Bethany Lutheran church in McCallsburg with the Rev. Perry Heller in charge.
Pallbearers were Norman Nessa, Duane Nessa, Arlon Nessa, Clyde Tannahill, Lanny Myers and Fred Waugh. Music was furnished by Mrs. Cecil Henderson with Mrs. Carroll Lura at the organ. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Lloyd Ellingson and Mrs. John Hauptly.
Interment was in the Roland cemetery.
Life Sketch
Nina Tannahilll Nessa was born Nov. 25, 1894 at Nashua, Iowa to Mary and Leonard Tannahill. During her infancy she moved with her parent to Laverne, Iowa and later moved to Forest City, Iowa. She taught school for four years.
On Dec. 22, 1915 she was united in marriage with Tom Nessa and moved to a farm near Garden City. During their married life they also resided at Collins and near Nevada.
To this union four sons were born, Milo of Story City, Orville of Story City, Milford of McCallsburg and Tommy at home.
She was baptized and joined the Bethany Lutheran church at McCallsburg in 1944.
She had been in poor health for several years and died Jan. 24 at her home near Nevada at the age of 64 years, one month, 27 days.
Her parents preceded her in death as well as three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, four sons; nine grandchildren as well as four sisters Mrs. Hattie Fisher, Forest City, Iowa, Mrs. Wilma Kinden of Algona, Mrs. Mildred Juhl of Crystal Lake, Mrs. Vera Nelson of Mason City and two brothers Curtis Tannahill of Jackson, Minn. and Estell Tannahill, La Mesa, Calif.
