THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, February 17, 1916, page 1. "OBITUARY - Ida Link McCord was born February 20, 1891, in Polk county, Iowa. She passed to her reward and higher service about 5 o'clock in the morning of Thursday, February 10, 1916, at Kinross, Iowa, where she, with her husband, had recently moved. She was married March 24, 1909, to Glenn E. McCord and they made their home in Collins, where they lived for six years. Mrs. McCord united with the church in Collins September, 1913, and was a loyal, devoted worker until their removal to Kinross. She was an active and tireless worker in all departments, happiest when using her talent as a musician and when teaching her class in the school. She was always ready at a moment's notice for any service she could render. Upon her arrival sat Kinross she united with the church there and was elected chorister and teacher of the Loyal Sons' class. She was also and active member of O. E. S. in Collins for three years, having entered in March 1913. Besides her husband she leaves her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Link, of Maxwell; four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Crabb, of Collins; Mesdames E. J. Niffenegger and John Wallin, of Des Moines; Mabel who is at home, and two brothers, Fred and Vernon, together with her half brothers and sisters and a whole community of friends to mourn their loss. Ever a loving, devoted wife, a faithful friend and a true helper, she will be greatly missed. She has been called home and beckons all to follow. The funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p. n. from the Christian Church in Collins. Rev. A. V. Hart of Newton, officiating. Interment at Collins cemetery.
