Rites Held Friday For Wm. Ridgeway
Funeral services for William C. Ridgeway of Nevada were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Elder G. B. Orr of Des Moines assisted by Elder Chas. Lehman of Colo, officiating.
Organ music was played before the opening and closing of the service.
The casket bearers were Charles Clemons, Ross Davis, Walter Duhn, John Hattery, Ivan Shalley and H. M. Vinsel.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Obituary
William Calvin Ridgeway, son of John and Cincy Ridgeway was born March 1, 1878, on a farm east of Nevada, in Story county.
When a boy of eight years he went with his parents and his brothers and sisters to Kansas. When a young man he returned to Iowa, first to Centerville and to Nevada in 1928, where he had since made his home.
He had worked at the Nevada cemetery for a number of years, had been night watchman in Nevada. He had also been employed at the Lapp Laboratories in Nevada.
For the past two years he had been in poor health, his death being due to a heart attack. Mr. Ridgeway was found dead at his home, 1719 Second street, Tuesday, around the noon hour by a neighbor who had become anxious when not seeing him about the home.
Mr. Ridgeway had been married while living in Texas, Sept. 13, 1911.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dawn Boykin of North Highland, Calif. and Mrs. Reba Cooper of Omaha, Neb. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Edna Halterman of Nevada and Mrs. Ida Brown of Oakland, Calif. He also leaves four grandsons, two great granddaughters and one great grandson.
William C. Ridgeway, the eighth in a family of ten children, was baptized in the Reorganized Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were the daughter, Mrs. Dawn Boykin of North Highland, Calif.; the daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cooper of Omaha, Neb.; a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. John Ridgeway of Red Oak, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Young of Des Moines, Mrs. Otis Corry of Bondurant, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Halterman of Roland, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lehman.
