ROLAND--Funeral services for Andrew Osheim were held from Bergen Lutheran church on Wednesday, June 25, 1958, with Rev. Allen E. Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Roland cemetery.
Harris J. Twedt sang "Den Store Hvide Flok" and "Just As I Am" at the church. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased Cyrus Christian, Rudolph Risdal, Leroy F. Higgins, Aaron Braathan, Lawrence Osheim and Clifford Osam.
Life Sketch
Andrew Osheim, son of Ole and Gundvor Osheim, was born in Skaanevik, Norway, January 1, 1878, and passed away in Iowa City, Iowa on June 21, 1958, at the age of 80 years, five months and 20 days.
He was baptized into the Lutheran faith by Bishop Buchman and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa, by Pastor C.C. Holter. Andrew came to the United States at the age of 13 years and settled near Roland where he spent the remainder of his life.
In 1916 he was united in marriage to Cena Rorvig, and they lived on a farm southeast of Roland until 1939, when they moved to Roland. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lena, and three brothers, Tome, Martin and Olaus.
Survivors include his wife Cena, a brother, Ole of Missoula, Mont., and 19 nieces and nephews.
