THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 17, 1907, page 4, column 3. "Another Veteran Gone To His Reward. - Daniel Harker, a respected citizen and veteran, passed away Friday evening at him home near Cambridge, the cause being from a complication of diseases. Mr. Harker had been ill for a long time and was a patient sufferer. He belonged to the G. A. R. post and was an honored member in the Masonic brotherhood. The funeral services were conducted from the UB church Sunday and the beautiful Masonic burial services were used. Rev. Hicks, of the UB church, delivered the sermon and the church choir rendered very beautiful music, after which a large concourse of friends followed the remains to its last resting place in the Cambridge cemetery. The deceased was about sixty-nine years and leaves a widow and several children with a host of friends to mourn the loss of a loving father and devoted husband, and who have the sympathy of numberless friends in their dark and lonely hours."
