THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 3, 1907, page 4, column 2. "OBITURAY - Julia Ann Deyton was born in Indianapolis, Ind., March 16 1847, and died in Iowa Center, Iowa, Saturday, September 28, 1907, aged 60 years, 6 months and 12 days. She was married to James V. Guge, August 16, 1868. To this union five children were born, one son Joshua E., of Minnesota, and four daughters, Mrs. Jennie Mitchell, of Polk County, Iowa; Mrs. Hattie Graves, of Des Moines; Mrs. Josephine Fry, of Iowa Center, Mrs. Jeannetta Johnson of Minnesota, all of whom are left to comfort the aged husband in his loss. Owing they could get no telegraph service none of the children were able to attend the funeral except Mrs. Jennie Mitchell and husband and Mrs. Josephine Fry and family. She leaves beside the children seven grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. She united with the Advent Church in Indiana in the summer of 1869, and died in the faith in which she live. The funeral was conducted from the family home on Monday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. Hignett, of the Maxwell Christian church, and interment occurred at the Iowa Center cemetery. A large crowd of old friends assemble to pay their last respects to the departed and it was a fitting finale to a well spent life." "CARD OF THANKS - We desire to thank the good people of the community for the many kindnesses** shown us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife and mother.
