Obituaries

Mrs. Jacob T. Hoversten

Mrs. Jacob T. Hoversten, 88, formerly of Story City, passed away January 12 at a hospital in Pasadena, California. Funeral services were held from Salem Lutheran Church at Glendale, Calif. on Jan. 13. Pallbearers were her four sons and two grandsons. Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Park, California, beside her husband.

Ella Sansgaard, daughter of John and Jeanette Sansgaard, was born in Hamilton County, Iowa on April 30, 1884. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Clear Lake and Ellsworth Lutheran Churches in Hamilton [County].

On July 2, 1909, she was united in marriage to Jacob T. Hoversten. They farmed west of Story City many years until 1940 when they moved to Glendale, California. Her husband passed away in Februay 1962. The past year and a half. Mrs. Hoversten had lived at Solheim Lutheran Home in Eagle Rock, California.

Surviving her are their four sons Dr. Lester Hoversten of San Jose, Leslie Hoversten of Anaheim, Ernest Hoversten of LaFayette and Herman Hoversten of Huntington Beach, all in California, also six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one brother, S. H. Sansgaars of route 1, Story City.
