Commodore Kintz died at his home in Collins, Sunday April 5, 1908. He was among the earliest settlers in Jasper County and a veteran of the Civil War. He was the father of 12 children, with 6 still living. Besides the wife and children he leaves 2 sisters; Mrs Rebecca Miller of Clear Creek and Mrs Susan Linger of Colfax, 1 brother; William Kintz of Colfax. Many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
