THOMAS LEROY DAVIS
MAXWELL--Funeral services were held for Thomas LeRoy Davis Saturday, Nov. 30 from the Maxwell Presbyterian church with the Rev. LeRoy Sargent the Reve. Stanley Farmer officiating.
Music was provided by Alice Gooden, James Beal and Madeline Summitt. Flowers were taken care of by Elizabeth Davis and Vera Viers.
Casket bearers were Harry Gibson, Rollie Pearson, Willis Evans, Flavius Pritchard, V. O. Ray and E. L. Wood. Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery.
Life Sketch
Roy Davis, son of David and Elizabeth Davis, was born at Maxwell, Iowa, June 15, 1891 and died at the Story County Hospital in Nevada Nov. 26, 1957 at the age 66 years, 5 months and 11 days.
Roy was united in marriage to Mable Beach on Feb. 11, 1914 and to this union was born one daughter, Jean. After the death of Mrs. Davis in 1933, Roy united in marriage to Mae Kirkland on Nov. 25, 1934 at Maxwell, Iowa.
Mr. Davis lived his entire life in and near Maxwell. He joined the Presbyterian church here on Oct. 13, 1916.
One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mae and one daughter Jean of Camas, Wash.; three step-sons, Virgil, Haze and Harold Kirkland, all of Portland, Ore. He is survived also by 7 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Whitney of Cambridge and Mrs. Codie Baker of Nevada and many other relatives and a host of friends.
