Funeral Services Held For Mrs. G. M. Talbott
COLLINS Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the E. U. B. church in Collins for Avis Nina Talbott, wife of Rev. G. M. Talbott of the E. U. B. church, whose death occurred on Jan. 1 at Nevada. Rev. H. O. Thompson, district superintendent of Des Moines, officiated.
Mrs. Orris Swaim and William Cochran sang "Step by Step," "We'll Say Goodnight Here But Good Morning Up There" and "Beyong the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Donna Ose.
Casket bearers were Milton Hale, George Jacobsen, Robert Johnson, Vern Noring, Flavius Pritchard and Allen Struthers.
Services were also held at the E. U. B. church in Moville, Iowa on Friday afternoon with burial in Arlington cemetery at Moville. Rev. Ray Thompson officiating there.
Mrs. Talbott was born at Washta, Iowa April 18, 1896 in Cherokee county and moved to Moville at the age of 11 with her parents where she attended school, graduating in 1914. She taught school one year.
She was married to G. M. Talbott on Nov. 25, 1915 and to this union were born four children two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Donald Jones) of Napierville, Ill., Mildred (Mrs. Clair Sellars) of Russell, Iowa, and two sons, Donald of LeMars, Iowa and Arthur of Sioux City, Iowa all of whom with their father survive. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. Rev. Talbott is serving his fifth year as pastor of the E. U. B. church in Collins.
Several ministers from out of town were in attendance at the funeral.
