Funeral Services For Mrs. Bertha Fronsdahl

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Fronsdahl of the Madrid Sweden Old People's home at Camp Dodge were held in Slater on Sunday afternoon in the Riis Funeral home and at the Bethlehem Lutheran church.

Presiding pastor was the Rev. P. -. Onstad who also sang two songs, "I'm a Pilgrim" and "Behold a Host Arrayed in White."

The floral offerings were very beautiful. Gifts of money to the missions were given by relatives and friends.

The pall bearers were Joe El---, E. C. Rood, Andrew Maland, M--- Mikelson, Ole Thorsness and Erick Ihle.

Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery beside the husband, who died a number of years ago.

Obituary

Bertha Dueland was born in Stavanger, Norway, June 14, 1859, and passed away at the Swedish Old People's home at Camp Dodge on Friday evening, Jan. 6, 1950, at the age of 90 years, six months and 23 days. Her death was due to complications of old age.

Her parents were the late Christ and Christina Dueland.

Her girlhood was spent in Norway, where she married Christopher Fronsdahl. they came to the United States in July of 1882 and made their home in Sheldahl for a number of years, later moving to Slater, where they continued to make their home.

Several years ago she gave up her home and lived with her son A. B. Fronsdahl and family at Woodward. About a year ago she entered the Swedish Old People's home.

She was a charter member of the Bethlehem Ladies Aid and one of the oldest members of the Bethlehem congregation.

Survivors

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edith Conyers of Fulton, Ill., and four sons, Milford of Ames, Martin of Boone, A. B. of Woodward and Chester of Slater; also two sisters, Mrs. Anna Coughlin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Susan Lane of Des Moines, and a number of relatives and friends.
