Thomas West of Summit, S. D., formerly of this vicinity, was born August 8, 1848 at Skjold, Norway and died at Watertown, S. D., May 22, 1924. He was married to Martha Erickson August 1875. He came to the country in 1866. The funeral was held May 26 at Jewell at the Maynard West home. Burial was made at the Evergreen cemetery. He leaves his wife, and ten children, namely Henry West of this place, Mrs. Dick Munson of Ellsworth, Joseph and M. T. West of Jewell, Mrs. M. J. Teig of Radcliffe, Mrs. A. G. Satre of Stanhope, Mrs. S. B. Teig of Nerstand, Minn., Elsie, Thomas and Oliva of Summit, S. D., besides of a host of other realtives and friends.
