Pioneer Collins Citizen Dies
The sad news of the death of William E. Kennedy was received here Monday. He died of paralysis at the home of his son, George in Okeene, Oklahoma on Sunday, says the Liberator. The remains were brought to this place today and funeral services held this afternoon at the home of another son, A. L. Kennedy, north of town being conducted by Rev. C. E. Burton of the U. B. church. Burial was in the Collins cemetery beside the graves of his wife who preceded him to the better world sixteen years ago, a son (Gibson) and a daughter (Mrs. Elmore Dolph). For thirty years Mr. Kennedy was a citizen of this locality, during all of which time he had the respect and confidence of our people. He lived to a good old age and passed away leaving the world better for his having lived it.
