Mrs. S. B. Teig (nee Cora Berthine West) daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas West was born February 3, 1892, in Hamilton county, Iowa. She was baptized as an infant in the Clear Lake and Ellsworth Lutheran church in Hamilton county and confirmed on August 7, 1908, in the Summit Lutheran church, Summit, S. Dak.
She was married on January 3, 1917 at the bride's home at Summit by the Rev. J. A. Westberg. This union was blessed with three children: John who died in infancy, Beulah Mae (Mrs. Francis J. Mohr) Burbank, Calif., and Tenner of Nerstrand.
Others who survive besides her devoted husband include: one granddaughter, Sharon Marie Mohr, two brothers, Henry West and Joseph West of Story City, three sisters, Mrs. G. S. Olson (Olina) Story City; Mrs. M. J. Teig (Emma) of Stanhope and Miss Elsie West, Glendale, Calif. There were two brothers and two sisters who preceded her in death: Thomas and Maynard West, Mrs. Dedrick Munson (Henrietta) and Mrs. A. G. Satre (Hannah).
Mrs. Teig was bedfast in St. Lucas hospital, Faribault, Minn., for five weeks and one day following stroke which she suffered in the evening of May 25. She was able to visit with her loved ones and friends up until the day that she passed away although perhaps at times everything was not as clear in her mind as it had been before her illness. She was present at the confirmation services in Valley Grove Lutheran church in the morning of May 25 and in the evening was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. Death came early Tuesday morning, July 1.
In addition to her loved ones there are many friends that will miss the kindnesses and willingness of a consecrated worker of the church that which was close to her heart at all times.
