Harrington Funeral Services at Collins

Collins, Nov. 7--Funeral services for the late Dora Harrington were held Sunday afternoon in the United Brethren church at Collins with the Rev. Geo. J. Cornford, local pastor in charge. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, by the side of her husband.

Mrs. Harrington was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Crouch. She was born Sept. 23rd, 1860, near Rhodes, Iowa and passed away on Nov. 1, 1934, at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Harrington near New Hartford, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Chris Harrington in the fall of 1880 at Collins, Iowa. To this union were born five sons, Charles A. of Manly, Iowa; Jess I. and William Jacob of Mason City; Claude C. of Union and George N., who preceded his mother in death five months ago.

The husband died five years ago. She leaves to mourn her departure, the four sons, 16 grandchildren, one brother, W. W. Crouch of Ames, one sister, Mrs. Jed Shenkle of Sioux City and host of friends. When a young woman she was converted and united with the Willow Creek U. B. church remaining a member of the denomination until the Lord called her to the church triumphant above.

She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and was active in christian work until her health failed. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. A. Harrington of Manly; Mr. and Mrs. William J. Harrington and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Harrington, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Harrington and family, Union; Mrs. May MacArthur and son Robert and Mrs. Mane Hill of Sioux City; Mrs. Jessie Harrington and children of New Hartford; Mr and Mrs. Hinnes of Manley; Mrs. Geo. West, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hale; Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hale of Rhodes; Mrs. Applegate and daughter, Nevada and Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. Crouch and Joy Bence of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nicodemus and son Keith of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Shuey and daughter Gendolyn and Miss Clara Signs were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Emery Signs and Mrs. Oran Hanson.
