Heart attack is fatal here for Ivan Mullihan

Ivan D. Mullihan, 78, died this morning (Friday) at the Story County Hospital where he had been admitted a short time earlier, as the result of a heart attack.

Mullihan was born December 3, 1890 in Polk County, the son of James and Adeline Mullihan. He had been a resident of Jasper and Story Counties his entire life, where he had followed the occupation of farming.

He married Mabel Streeter October 25, 1924 in Jasper County.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel, a son, Harold B. Mullihan and a daughter-in-law, Doris, of Collins, four grandchildren; two brothers, John Mullihan of Collins and Ray Mullihan of Nevada. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, three sisters and two daughters.

Funeral services will be held at the Collins Christian Church Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Schaeffer officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery north of Mitchellville.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until Monday morning at 10 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church.
