Funeral Rites Held at Collins for Late Albert Heintz

Collins, Sept. 22--Funeral services for the late Albert C. Heintz who died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Collins on Thursday afternoon where held at the Methodist church, Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Patton of the local Church of Christ in charge of services. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Mary Tomlinson, Miss Calla Wood, E. S. Stuntz and Milton Hale, with Mrs. C. R. Stone as accompanist. The quartet sang "Jesus Cares" and "Going Down the Valley" and Mrs. Tomlinson sang, "I Know Not, " as a solo.

The flowers were arranged by Mrs. Ora Hanson and Mrs. O. N. Serbein.

Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery at Collins with Henry Dodd, Dewey Kern, W. R. Rumbaugh, Harold Kimberley, Glen Pointer and Kenneth Tomlinson of the local Masonic lodge acting as pallbearers.

The burial services of the Masonic order was in charge of the Rhodes Masonic lodge with Walter Ballonbacher giving the ritualistic work. A portion of the work given at the church concluded at the cemetery.

The following brief life sketch was read in part by Rev. Patton at the church.

Albert Carl Heintz, youngest child of the late Adolph and Mary Heintz was born on the Heintz homestead northeast of Collins on December 14, 1873 and departed this life at his home in Collins Thursday afternoon, September 17, 1942 at the age of 68 years, nine months and four days. He grew to manhood in this community and was married to Elizabeth Ann Huntrods on June 26, 1918.

They made their home in Collins and it was here the wife died, January 24, 1921. Since that time the deceased has lived in the home alone. He was the last member of this pioneer family and is survived only by his four nephews and three nieces, children of the late W. G. Heintz. He also leaves a number of more distant relatives and a host of friends who sincerely mourn his passing.

For many years the deceased was an active member of the Rhodes Masonic Lodge, and has retained his membership in the Odd Fellow Lodge although the local order ceased to function a number of years ago.

Mr. Heintz was a highly respected citizen of this community, a good neighbor and a kind friend who will be missed by all.
