Roy Hines Buried in California
Roy Hines, 44, former Nevada man, who died at a hospital at Applegate, Calif. August 29, was buried in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Auburn, Calif., Wednesday, Aug. 31, after services at a funeral home with Rev. Wilson of the Methodist Episcopal church in charge.
The deceased was born near Nevada, October 8, 1888*. He was raised in this community and was married to Miss Sadie Torrance April 15, 1912. The made their home in Nevada until September 15, 1931, when they left here for the west, for the benefit of his health, which had been declining for some time.
He had been for some time previous to leaving Nevada employed by Story county in the highway department. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge and Rebekah order and has for some time been on the Odd Fellow's degree team.
He leaves besides his widow, his mother who lives in Cedar Rapids; two sisters Mrs. Maude Baker of Lynch, Neb., and Mrs. Ransa Reitz of North Carolina; and four brothers, Joe of Ames, Len of Nevada, Wiley of Algona and Dave of LaPorte City.
