OBITUARY OF BELVA MYERS

Belva Beatrice Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clint Myers was born June 16, 1922 and passed away at the home of her parents northwest of Colo on June 28, 1933, aged 11 years and 12 days.

She had been suffering from an illness known as chorea. A previous attack of the same nature had some to her two years ago. At that time she was not able to attend school for a year, but following this she made a recovery and had shown signs of good health up to a few months ago when she began to weaken and lose strength.

Three weeks ago she again succumbed to the dread disease and steadily grew worse till the last week after which it was evident that she would not recover.

In all the suffering and hardship she had undergone she remained cheerful and happy to the end. Each day when asked how she felt she replied that she was better. Her efforts at smiling in pain and disappointment and her consideration of others will remain a benediction to her parents and those who were near to her.

The Monday evening before she died she was baptize in the Christian faith by the minister of Calvary Evangelical church of Colo.

Her life was like the brief rays of sunshine, which are here for a time and then obscured by the clouds, we no longer see them but still we remember.

She was the only daughter of the family. Those who remain to mourn her loss are her father and mother, one brother Hubert, an uncle Doyle Myers who has been raised in the family, her grandfather William Bruner of Marshalltown and host of other relatives and friends.
