Funeral Services For Mureal Lock
Funeral services for Muriel Arlene Lock, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cassel T. Lock, who passed away at an early hour Wednesday morning were held from the Nevada Evangelical church Friday afternoon following a brief prayer service at the home.
The services were in charge of the Rev. John Deedrick. Six little girls, Doris Scott, Frances Scott, Faye Mulanix, Geraldine Hubner, Helen Mulanix and Donna Larson, acted as pall bearers.
A group of twenty little schoolmates, each carrying an arm bouquet of flowers, formed an aisle as the casket entered and left the church. At the conclusion of the interment service these little girls marched about the grave and laid their flowers about the casket.
The following obituary was read by Rev. Deedrick during the funeral services:
Muriel Arlene Lock, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cassell T. Lock, was born north of Ames, October 25, 1924, and died at her home 1933 4th street, Nevada, May 31, 1933. Her age being 8 years, 7 months and 6 days. Besides her parents, she leaves to mourn the loss, one brother, Loren and one sister Lola May, also her grandmothers on both sides of the relationship, and her great grandmother on the mother's side, and other relatives.
Up until about nine months ago, when she became ill, she was a member of the Evangelical Sunday school and was loved by her teacher and those with whom she was associated.
