Funeral Services for Everett Dunahoo
Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, Nov. 4--Funeral services for Everett Dunahoo were held Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church here with Rev. DeLoss Marken of Des Moines in charge assisted by the pastor Rev. Judson T. Perkins. Mrs. Ray Gooden sang "There Will be no Disappointment in Heaven" and "In the Garden", with Mrs. Gerton Nelson accompanist. The flower tokens of esteem were many and most beautiful.Pallbearers were J. M. Atterberry, John Joor, Joe Young, A. F. Heinrich and Boyd and Clark Martin, members of social lodge A. F. & A. M. of which the deceased was a member.
The burial was in the family lot in the Iowa Center cemetery where the services were in charge of the Masonic members.
Rev. Marken read the following obituary during the service:
"Everett Dunahoo son of Arba and Major Dunahoo was born Aug. 26, 1905 and passed away at the age of 34 years, 2 months and 4 days.
"He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Maxwell.
"At the age of 9 became a member of the Methodist church at Maxwell.
"He was born in Maxwell and has lived in this vicinity all his life except the past year and a half when he lived in Des Moines where he passed away.
"He was married to Lorraine Poynter Aug. 4, 1936.
"He is survived by his wife Lorraine Dunahoo, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Major Dunahoo, one sister Mrs. Arlo F. Hayes of Nevada, one brother Merril Dunahoo of Maxwell, and one nephew Thomas Hayes of Nevada.
