Funeral Services Held in Zearing For James N. Sager

James Nephi Sager was born March 28, 1908 at Mingo, Iowa, the son of William H. and Susanna Thomas Sager.

The earlier years of his life were spent in Jasper county. He was baptized in the Methodist Church at Colfax, Iowa.

On March 4th, 1933 he was united in marriage to Fern L. Cooper. They have spent their entire married life farming in the Collins and Colo communities.

The deceased suffered a stroke on July 25th, 1962 and died at their home in Colo, Iowa on July 27th, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Mary, Laura, and Lydia, and one brother Joseph.

He leaves to survive him, his wife Fern, two brothers, Simon of Colfax, William J. of Fernald, and one sister Ruth Snook of Louisburg, Missouri. He also leaves many nieces and nephews

Jim was a treasured friend to every child who knew him, and to his many acquaintance.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for James N. Sager were held Monday, July 30 in the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing, with the Rev. Floyd Newbrough officiating.

Mrs. Frances Stone, pianist, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Alice Marsh as she sang for the service.

The many floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. N. H. Bennet and Mrs. Forest Granger.

Honorary pallbearers were Wes McWherter, Ray Wier, Forest Granger, and Wallace Tjelmeland.

Active casket bearers were Charles Sager, Charles J. Sager, William C. Sager, Jerry Sager, Murry Atkins and Max Bach.

Burial was in the Collins Evergreen cemetery at Collins.
