Another Seriously Ill. Diphtheretic** scarlet fever has fastened itself upon the children of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Dyer, living on Mrs. Foy's place, south of Maxwell. Two girls of the family have succumbed to the disease and another, the eldest of the children, is in a serious condition. The only son was also afflicted, but is recovering. In each case scarlet fever was contracted, and later diptheria** developed, resulting in the two fatalities. Mildred May Dyer, born October 17, 1909, passed away Sunday night, January 18, 1920, after a short illness, aged ten years, three months and one day. She was buried at Mt. Zion cemetery Monday afternoon. Laura Dyer was born August 23, 1913, and died January 20, 1920, aged six years, four months and twenty-eight days. Burial was made at Mt. Zion cemetery by the side of her elder sister Wednesday afternoon. Owing to the contagious nature of the disease, no public services were held except open air services for each at the grave side, conducted by Rev. H. D. Robinson, pastor of Mt. Zion church.
