THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, October 8, 1925. "MRS. E. T. CONNER - Ella Eva Cook was born at Bellaire (**editorial note Bel Air is the actual spelling), Md., January 22, 1874. When she was a small child her family moved to Iowa and located near Maxwell, where she grew to womanhood. December 18, 1901, she was united in marriage to E. T. Conner. They continued to make Iowa their home until the spring of 1926 when they moved to Modesto, Calif., where they remained until autumn, when they moved to Delhi, where they continued to reside. Early in life Mrs. Conner was led to make her decision for the Christian life and united with the Methodist church and on removing to California they transferred their membership to the Turloch Methodist church. She was a member of the Union Sunday school class, Ladies Aid and the missionary society, and as far as her health would permit, was faithful in attendance and always manifested a warm interest in all activities of the church. In August, 1924, Mrs. Conner submitted to a serious surgical operation and since has made a heroic fight to regain her health. Again in august of this year it became necessary to submit to surgery, but disease had taken such a firm hold upon the body which never had been the most rugged and finally after much suffering the long illness closed in the sleep of death Sunday, September 27. In her going she leaves, her loving companion, two sisters, Mrs. Daniel E. Fry, of East Prospect, Pa., and Mrs. Emma Harmon, of Maxwell, and three brothers, G. B. Cook of Des Moines; J. W. and F. B. Cook, of Maxwell. Besides these, two brothers of Mar. Conner, Clarence, of Vancouver, Wash., and J. F. Conner and wife, of Henry, S. D., were present with him in his sorrow. Truly it can be said of her "for me to live in Christ to die is gain." ______ tributes and the large company of neighbors and friends at the services at the Methodist church, Saturday afternoon bespeaks the high esteem in which she was held. Services were conducted by W. S. Kight, pastor of the church. Music was rendered by the choir after which the body was laid to rest in the Peoria cemetery. CARD OF THANKS - To the many friends whose sympathy and services were so kindly tendered in our bereavement, we wish to extend our most sincere thanks and appreciation. E. T. Conner, The brothers and sisters."
