Chas. L. Kingsbury Story Co. Pioneer Dies Sunday P.M.
Charles L. Kingsbury, 88 died at 8:55 p.m. Sunday following a stroke in the Sterns Nursing Home in Nevaa where he had been since November 1.
Funeral services will be held from the Adams Funeral Home in Ames Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. E. R. Walter officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens cemetery south of Ames. The body will rest at the Funeral home until the time of service.
Mr. Kingsbury, a Story county pioneer, was born in Rockford, Ill. May 4, 1865, coming to Iowa with his parents at the age of three. He was the eldest son of Henry and Dorcas Kingsbury, pioneer Story county residents. He grew to manhood in Grant township.
He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Kyle, Nov. 15, 1888, who preceded him in death in 1946.
He is survived by seven sons - Ivan of Rochester, Minn., Ralph of Rochelle, Ill., John of Austin, Minn., Dale of Ames, Henry of Nevada, Ben of Creswell, Oregon, and Walter of Nevada. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and on great grand child.
