MRS. RISVOLD DIED SATURDAY EVENING

Her Demise Had Been Expected For Some Time, as She Had Been Gradually Failing For Several Months. Funeral Held Monday Afternoon.

Mrs. Anna Risvold passed away last Saturday evening, after suffering patiently for several months, the past weeks having been confined to her bed. Not one word of complaint did she make at any time during her sickness, as she was fully resigned to her faith, believing that when she entered the other shore she would enter into the kingdom of her Saviour.

The deceased was born in Saude Ryfylke, Norway, March 19, 1839 and died June 29, 1912, being 73 years, 3 months and 10 days old at the time of her death. She was married to Helge Risvold to which union ten children were born, four of whom are left to mourn her death. They are Mrs. Jacob Obe, of Stanhope, Miss Helen Henderson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Geo. Stickle of Newton, and Lars Risvold of near this place. There are a number of other relatives left to mourn her death, besides a host of friends.

In 1882, she came with her husband to this country, making their home near Roland and later near Stanhope, but 9 years ago they moved to Roland, which place was their home until the death of Mr. Risvold seven years ago and Mrs. Risvold death at this time.

The funeral services were held from Bergen Lutheran church on Monday afternoon, a large number of friends of deceased being present to pay their last respect to a departed friend. The funeral sermon was preached by her pastor, Rev. G. Smedal after which the remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery. Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral can be mentioned, Messrs and Mesdames Jacob Obe and children, and Amond Anderson, of Stanhope; Nels Berven, of Kamar; George Stickle, of Newton; S. Risvold, of Ellsworth; A. J. Severson, of Story City; Mesdames Andrew Svendsen and Lars Stensen of Story City; Miss Amanda Risvold of Ellsworth; Messrs M. Simonson and Rev. H. J. Hjortholm of Ellsworth; Andrew Thompson and Lars Durby of Story City; Ben Johnson, of Stanhope; S. C. Severson, and J. J. Hereim, of Jewell. The Record joines the many friends of the family in extending to them it's sincere sympathy in the hour of their affliction.
