Last Rites Held Tuesday at Baxter, For W. W. Connelly

Collins, April 1 -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for the late William Walter Connelly, 75, who passed away lat Friday morning after a lingering illness. The services in charge of the Rev. Paul Varce, pastor of the Collins United Brethren church, were held at the Boyd funeral home in Baxter, with interment in Restland cemetery, Baxter.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Jennie Goodwin, pianist and Mrs. Arthur Dodd, and the floral arrangement was in charge of Mrs. J. H. Boyd.

Pallbearers were Frank Sego, Arthur Dodd, Tharies Dodd, Ross Sutton, Adolph Kracht and Chris Schaefer.

Walter W. Connelly was born Feb. 6, 1872, in Jasper county, Iowa, and passed to his reward March 21, 1947 at his home in Collins.

He had a paralytic stroke in May 1945, and another in August, 1946 from which he never recovered.

Mr. Connelly and Anna Olson were untied in marriage Nov. 7, 1898 and on July 17, 1900. Mrs. Connelly passed to her reward.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Maudie and one son Henry.

On Nov. 19, 1902 Mr. Connelly was united in marriage to Alice Mae Kennedy.

Those who survive are his wife, one daughter, Minnie (Mrs. Arthur Leland, Collins), three sons, William Connelly of Alexander, Ind., Steven D. Connelly, Collins and James Connelly, Anderson, Ind., two grandchildren, Jane Ann and James Walter Connelly, one sister, Mrs. Hattie Logan, Colfax, two brothers, R. A. Connelly of East Pleasant Plains and C. M. Connelly of Yakima, Wash.

On Sept. 13, 1946 Mr. Connelly accepted Christ as his personal saviour and was baptized that day.
