Funeral Services For Miss Laura Bishop Held Thursday
Colo, Nov. 11--Funeral services were held for Miss Laura Bishop, 82, Thursday afternoon, Nov. 4, at 2 o'clock in the Colo Evangelical church. The Rev. P. E. Miller of Sheffield, a former pastor of the Evangelical church an a close friend of the family, had charge of the service being assisted by the Rev. R. L. Russell. Rev. Miller stressed in his remarks of the wonderful faith she had and loyalty in attendance to the church services for years until physical illness made it impossible for her to attend.
Mrs. Isabelle Bamford, Mrs. Frances See and Mrs. Edna Ward cared for and arranged the beautiful floral pieces, mute testimonies of the appreciation of her kindliness to relatives, neighbors and friends.
Rev. Russell sang two solos "I Shall Pilot Thee" and "After Life's Work Is Done" being accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lois Yeager.
Casket bearers were Raymond Weir, Max Weir, Mahlon Weir, George See and Lester Jay, interment being in the Colo cemetery.

Laura A. Bishop was born April 26, 1865, at Bishop Mills, Ontario, Canada, moving to Colo with her parents at the age of 8 years where the family located on the Bishop homestead south of Colo where she continued to live until her death Nov. 4, 1947.
She is survived by one brother, four nieces, five nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Feary of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gardiner, C. O. Dool of Zearing, Mr. and Mrs. George See Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Max Weir, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Ward, Mrs. Settle of Nevada, Mrs. Ann Kirby of Ames.
