Funeral Service For Alfred Cole Wednesday Afternoon

Last rites for Alfred Cole, 72, who died at the Cassville, Mo., hospital March 7 were held at the Morfoot Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Hugh C. Guy of the Nevada Christian church officiating.

Organ music was played at the beginning and close of the service.

The pallbearers were Leslie McBride, Glen Appelgate, Darrell Appelgate, Gary Wells, Gus Ludwig and Bob Fink. Burial was in the famly lot in the Nevada cemetery.

The following obituary was prepared and read by the officiating minister:

Alfred Cole, son of Nathaniel and Henrietta Cole, was born in Story county in 1876 and passed away in the Cassville, Mo., hospital Sunday, March 7, at the age of 72 years. He had been living with his brother, Austin Cole at Exeter, before entering the hospital. He is survived by his brothers John Cole of Nevada and Austin Cole of Exeter, Mo.

None of the three Cole brothers were married. They lived for many year on the Cole farm south of Nevada. They loved the rustic out-door life and later home of Austin and Alfred in the Shepherd of the Hills country in the Ozarks was very probably much to their liking.

At present the brother John of Nevada is with his brother Austin, in Exeter, Mo., whose health did not permit of their being in attendance at the funeral.
