Obituary

Earl Elmo Housier, son of Mrs. John Henry and Mrs. Mary Alice Housier, was born at Danville, Illinois, on November 26th, 1896, and passed away at the Wadsworth hospital, Los Angeles, California, on August 15, 1940 at the age of 52 years, eight months and 19 days.

Earl came, with his parents from Illinois to Iowa in the year 1909 and continued to live here until the year 1936.

He willingly answered his country's call in the first World War and served in the infantry as a foot soldier. He was a member of the American Legion, holding the membership in the Nevada Post number 48. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge.

When he lived in Nevada he had many friend but most of them have either moved elsewhere of have preceded him in death. Because of his friendly nature he mead many friends when he went to California. All of these join in expressing their sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family.

At the time of the sudden death of his brother, Roy, last November 3, Earl expressed his faith in God and his family feel that he was a converted man after that time.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Survivors

He leaves to mourn his departure, his aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Housier, and one sister, Cora, all of Nevada. Several aunts and a number of cousins, as well as many other relatives and friends.

His death came as a result of pneumonia which was complicated by his chronic asthmetic condition. A few days prior to his death he wrote home of his plans to return to Nevada for a visit. Little did he or his family realize that his visit would be in this fashion. Only the great and good God knows what the morrow may bring forth. We, who are the followers of Christ, abide by his wise decrees and some day we will see that His way was best.
