THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 16, 1961, page 1, column 3. "WALTER DAVID BENNETHUM - Walter David Bennethum, son of David and Rebecca Bennethum, was born June 10, 1886, at Iowa Center, Iowa, and departed this life March 6, 1961 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 6 days, after an illness of three months. Mr. Bennethum resided in Iowa Center with his parents until 1902, when they moved to Maxwell. On February 10, 1910 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Bennett, to this union 2 children were born. He lived all his life in Iowa except for 12 years he lived at Aitken, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Bennethum celebrated their golden wedding anniversary a year ago. Mr. Bennethum was in the building and contracting business for forty years. He resided in Cambridge the past 14 years, where he has been in the hardware business. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Bennethum; 2 daughters, Mrs. Donald Storm of Cambridge and Mrs. Gary Adams of Des Moines, Iowa.
