THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 2, 1926, page 1, column 6. "SUDDEN DEATH OF CLAUDE BELCHER - Claude Belcher, former Maxwell and Iowa Center man, died very suddenly of heart trouble, Friday afternoon at the Des Moines Electric company, Des Moines, where he has been employed the past eight years. Mr. Belcher was born 43 years ago at Leavenworth, Ind., but the greater part of his life was spent in the Iowa Center neighborhood, until he moved to Des Moines eight years ago. He is survived by his widow, eight children, his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Belcher, three brothers, Jasper, Earl and Chester, all of Grinnell. ___ ___ ___ afternoon from the Iowa Center church, conducted by Rev. D. C. Busenburg, of Red Oak, a former pastor at Iowa Center. Interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery."
