THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 20, 1924, page 1. "OBITUARY - Daniel Frederick Baldwin, son of Jacob and Eliza Baldwin, was born May 1, 1854, in Somerset, Somerset county, Pennsylvania, and died November 12, 1924, at the age of seventy years, six months and ten days. When but a small boy his parents moved form Pennsylvania to Iowa in Wapello county and later to Jasper county, where he has made his home for about sixty years. On February 1, 1874, he was united in marriage to Francis McClannahan. To this union twelve children were born; four have preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife, who has cared for him so tenderly for the past three years in his declining health, and eight children, who have all grown to manhood and womanhood, namely, Edward, of Yakima, Washington: Gertie Harmon, of Charleston, West Virginia: Mary E. Battles, Jacob F. Wesley and Vera Clements, all of Mingo; Ruby Jones, of Rhodes, and Irvin at home; 36 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. When early in life he united with the Brethren church and he has been a faithful member to the last, being ready to go to meet his God. He has been always ready and willing to help in sickness or sorrow throughout the neighborhood and will be greatly missed in his home and by his neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Zion church by Rev. E. D. Fiscel, of Yale, Iowa. Many relatives and friends came to pay their last respect to the deceased. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Fred Geisler, Floyd Hulse, Mrs. Ed Hay and Mrs. Perish, with Miss Mae Rothrock at the piano. Burial was in the family lot at the Graham cemetery. The pall bearers were Frank Bailey, Conrad Heberer, Clate Lint, Eugene Baldwin, John Altes and John Geisler, Sr. CARD OF THANKS - We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for all assistance and kindness show us in our bereavement and also for the flowers. Mrs. D. F. Baldwin and Children."
