Services in Denver For Patrick Carmody
Final rites for Patrick Carmody were held Thursday morning, March 2, at the Holy Ghost Catholic church in Denver, Colorado. Rev. William Monahan was the officiating minister. Interment was in the Mount Olivet cemetery at Denver.
Pall bearers were three nephews, John Carmody of Nevada, George Carey of Denver and his friends, Al Pfeifer and Mark Shannon.
Lived In Zearing
Patrick Carmody was the son of Patrick and Mary Moroney Carmody. He was born at Forreston, Ill., on March 8, 1869 and passed away Feb. 27, 1950, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 19 days.
In the year 1883 he came with his parents to Story county and settled on a farm near Zearing, where he lived until he grew to manhood. He then lived in Paulina, Iowa, Canada and Detroit, Mich., before moving to Denver, where he resided until his death.
In 1902 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Hart. To this union one child was born, Mary, now Mrs. George Sanders of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
His wife, Anna, two step-sons, father and mother and six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. George Sanders; one step-son, Glen Hart of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. George Walker of Denver and Mrs. John Moroney of Nevada; five nephews, John Carmody of Nevada, Patrick Carmody of Zearing, Francis Carmody of New Hampton, Patrick Walker of Denver and Major John Carmody of Tokyo, Japan; one niece, Pauline Carmody of Des Monies, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives attending his funeral were Mrs. George Sanders of Vancouver, B. C., Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kindrick of Glenwood Springs, Colo., John Carmody of Nevada and Patrick Carmody of Zearing.
His sister, Mrs. John Moroney, and husband of Nevada could not attend because of the illness of Mrs. Moroney.
