THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 27, 1912, page _, column 6. "J. P. ALDERMAN DEAD. - J. P. Alderman, a former resident of Iowa Center and a Civil war veteran, died at his home in Ames Monday. Mr. Alderman sustained a stroke of paralysis over a month ago in the Masonic lodge rooms in Ames. He was taken to Mary Greeley hospital where he remained until about a week ago, when he was taken to his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 o'clock at the home, conducted by the Masons and Rev. L. C. Harris of the Christian church."
