Pioneer Woman Dies Last Night at Iowa Center

Maxwell, Aug. 4.--Mrs. Clara Higley, 90, died at her home in Iowa Center last night, after over 86 years of continuous residence in this community.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Iowa Center church, after which the body will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery at that place, by the side of the husband who passed away 11 years ago.

She leaves two daughters, one of the Leta Higley at home, and the other, Mrs. J. C. Nowning of Iowa Center; and two sons, Almon H. Higley of Garner and Rodney Higley of Sedroweeley, Wash.

Coming here as a small child with her parents, she lived continuously since in Indian Creek township, Story county.
